Intermountain Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our fully remote Refill Authorization team. The role supports primary care clinics by processing medication refill authorizations under a collaborative practice agreement, ensuring timely patient access.

Candidates must hold a valid Pharmacy Technician license in Utah, Colorado, Montana, or Nevada and be able to work in a remote environment. This PRN position offers variable shifts between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm, with 8- to 10-hour

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required.
• Current pharmacy technician certification and/or license applicable to state of practice.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations and statutes regarding the practice of pharmacy and distribution of drugs.
• Any lapse or failure to meet these requirements may result in disciplinary action, up to termination.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient charts to verify latest provider visits and refill eligibility under EMRC agreement.
• Gathers and reviews clinical information (labs, monitoring parameters, medication history) to support refill requests.
• Prepares and documents refill authorization requests using pharmacy technology in line with state laws and policies.
• Ensures all required clinical criteria are complete before pharmacist review.
• Routes completed refill requests to the pharmacist for final verification and processing.
• Communicates with pharmacists and care team about missing information or clarifications.
• Identifies safety concerns or gaps in care and escalates to the pharmacist.
• Maintains accurate documentation in the patient record.
• Demonstrates strong computer proficiency and ability to navigate multiple systems in a remote work environment.
• Works collaboratively as part of a large remote team with professionalism and good interpersonal skills.
