Job summary

Actalent is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician for a remote role tied to Houston, TX. This role focuses on Medicare/Medicaid Prior Authorizations, starting with intake tasks and progressing to tech reviews to ensure medication coverage and eligibility.

The position supports HIPAA-compliant operations in a fully remote setting with a structured training schedule and flexible post-training shifts. A CPHT is preferred and experience in managed care is valuable.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in data entry and pharmacy operations.
• Pharmacy technician certification with experience in managed care and claims.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to work remotely.
• Computer skills and familiarity with Prior Authorization processes.

Responsibilities

• Handle intake of MedPharma prior authorizations and set up PAs in the system.
• Forward PA cases to review technicians for coverage assessment.
• Approve or deny medications based on criteria, SOPs, and documents.
• Make clinical determinations on medication approval or denial and coverage capacity.
