Job summary

Actalent is seeking a remote Pharmacy Technician to support MedPharma with Prior Authorizations and tech reviews. The role is contract-to-hire, primarily serving Medicare/Medicaid patients, and involves intake duties with training to handle review tasks.

Strong emphasis on HIPAA compliance and remote work setup. The position requires certification, experience in managed care and claims, and the ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in data entry and pharmacy operations.
• Pharmacy technician certification with experience in managed care and claims.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to work remotely and independently.
• Computer skills and familiarity with Prior Authorization processes.

Responsibilities

• Handle the intake of MedPharma prior authorizations, setting up PAs in the system and forwarding them to review technicians.
• Conduct tech reviews by receiving PA cases from the intake team and assessing them for coverage.
• Approve or deny medications based on criteria, SOPs, insurance documents, and medical documents.
• Make clinical determinations regarding medication approval or denial and coverage capacity.
