Job summary

Oscar Health is hiring a Pharmacy Technician Supervisor - Prior Authorization to lead the daily operations of the prior authorization technician team within the Pharmacy Utilization Management group. This role mentors staff, optimizes workflows, and drives quality and regulatory compliance.

You will report to the Manager, Pharmacy Utilization Management. This remote role is open to many states with occasional travel for meetings and events.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active, unrestricted Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 4+ years of work experience in a pharmacy-related field.
• 2+ years of performing pharmacy reviews for a managed care plan or PBM.
• 1+ years of people or project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily technician workflows, queue monitoring, and task assignments for prior authorization requests.
• Monitor productivity and quality metrics; provide 1-on-1 coaching and performance reviews.
• Serve as resource for complex intake issues, escalated provider inquiries, and system glitches.
• Identify and implement process improvements; resolve daily challenges to keep the team operating.
• Partner with cross-functional leadership to develop, update, and organize team training resources.
• Participate in rotated weekend and holiday on-call schedule for queues and team support.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
