Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I to serve as a liaison among patients, providers, and pharmacists. This role emphasizes exceptional customer service and phone etiquette while maintaining patient confidentiality in a remote home-office setting.

Responsibilities include handling refill requests, coordinating with pharmacies, and supporting care teams to remove barriers to access. A strong emphasis on accuracy, documentation, and adherence to policies is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of retail pharmacy experience.
• Active Pharmacy Technician license in the state of residence.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• U.S. work authorization.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred, medical Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Field inbound calls for refill requests and investigate renewal status.
• Assist/remind patients in obtaining refills from their pharmacy.
• Make outbound calls to pharmacies on behalf of patients as needed.
• Handle high call volume with 40–50 inbound and 60–80 outbound calls per day.
• Coordinate with care teams to overcome barriers to refills.
• Use electronic medical record systems to send requests to care teams.
• Document patient requests clearly in applicable systems.
• Monitor queues to ensure completion of open requisitions.
• Arrange transportation for center visits and schedule appointments.
• Triage with nurse line for acute healthcare concerns.
