Job summary

Lumicera is seeking a Pharmacy Manager (PIC) to lead our Specialty Pharmacy Clinical Services in a weekday-only role with no patient in-person interactions. This leadership position oversees daily clinical decisions, dispensing workflows, inventory, and regulatory compliance for a fast-paced specialty mail-order operation.

The Pharmacist in Charge partners cross-functionally with clinicians, reimbursement teams, logistics, and vendors to optimize patient outcomes and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• PharmD or BS degree in Pharmacy required.
• Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of residence or reciprocity within 4 months.
• 5+ years as a licensed Pharmacist.
• 3+ years leadership with direct reports.
• 1+ year of Specialty Pharmacist experience preferred.
• Knowledge of REMS and Limited Distribution Products preferred.
• 3+ years’ experience in specialty mail operations, cold-chain shipping, or limited distribution networks preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily specialty mail pharmacy fulfillment operations including dispensing, verification, shipping, cold-chain handling and issue resolution.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state pharmacy laws and accreditation standards (URAC/ACHC), HIPAA, and SOPs.
• Manage staff scheduling, training, coaching, engagement and performance for pharmacists and technicians.
• Drive quality and safety programs: medication error prevention, CAPA, and process improvements.
• Support inventory management for specialty drugs, REMS programs, COIs, and hazardous drugs handling.
• Maintain cold-chain integrity and develop procedures for packing, shipping, temperature excursions, and returns.
• Monitor KPIs (turnaround time, accuracy, delivery success, patient satisfaction) and implement improvements.
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate service levels as needed.
• Prepare for audits/inspections and maintain regulatory readiness and documentation.
• Support implementation of PMS, workflow tools, e-prescribing interfaces, and reporting.
