Job summary

Lumicera in Madison, WI is seeking a Pharmacist in Charge to lead the Specialty Pharmacy Clinical Services team. The PIC will oversee daily operations, ensure clinical decision-making, and maintain compliance with all pharmacy laws and accrediting standards.

The role includes supervising pharmacists and technicians, optimizing dispensing workflows, and collaborating with clinicians and reimbursement teams to deliver safe, timely specialty medications.

Qualifications

• PharmD or BS degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy is required.
• Current, unrestricted pharmacist licensure in home state or reciprocity within 4 months may be required.
• 5+ years as a licensed pharmacist with leadership experience.
• Experience in specialty pharmacy, REMS, and limited distribution products preferred.
• Knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws applicable to operation.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily specialty mail pharmacy fulfillment operations including dispensing and verification.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state laws and accreditation standards (URAC/ACHC, HIPAA).
• Manage staff scheduling, coaching, and performance management.
• Drive quality improvement and CAPA programs.
• Oversee inventory, cold-chain handling, and vendor relationships.
• Prepare for audits/inspections and maintain regulatory readiness.
• Lead implementation of pharmacy systems and reporting tools.
