Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Remote PFS Representative in the Amb Billing & Follow Up area. You will coordinate patient billing, posting, and denials management while supporting both Acute and Ambulatory teams. The role centers on researching EOBs, appealing denials, and ensuring timely reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Requires knowledge of patient financial services, financial, collecting services or insurance industry experience processes normally acquired over one or more years of work experience.
• Requires the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision and to work independently.
• Requires strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to effectively interact with a wide range of audiences.
• Strong knowledge in the use of common office software, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software are required.

Responsibilities

• Process payments, adjustments, claims, and denials in an accurate and timely manner.
• Reconcile balances, pursue payments and denials with payors and contracts to maximize reimbursement.
• Research payments and denials to determine short/over payments and contract discrepancies.
• Build strong relationships with internal teams and external providers to educate and correct problems.
• Respond to calls and inquiries to resolve billing, payment, and accounting issues and provide excellent customer service.
• Assist the patient financial services team to reduce outstanding accounts and improve cash flow.
• Document actions and communicate with payors using provided systems.
