Job summary

Suncoast Center is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented per diem helpline advocate for its Sexual Assault Program. This remote role provides crisis intervention, advocacy, and emotional support to survivors of sexual assault through the helpline.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (bachelor’s degree preferred), trauma knowledge, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide confidential, trauma-informed crisis intervention and support to survivors of sexual assault.
• Assess safety needs and provide individual support, resources, referrals, and safety planning.
• Use active listening, empathy, and nonjudgmental communication to empower survivors and support informed decision-making.
• Provide information on medical, legal, advocacy, counseling, and community resources while respecting survivor autonomy.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with organizational policies, ethical standards, and mandated reporting requirements.
• Coordinate referrals, warm handoffs, and services with community providers, hospitals, law enforcement, and advocacy programs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community partners to promote continuity of care.
• Advocate for survivors’ rights, choices, and access to appropriate support.
