Job summary

Recovery Innovations is seeking a dedicated Peer Support Specialist I to provide recovery-based coaching and advocacy to individuals receiving services at our Crisis location in Durham, NC. You will help identify goals, teach recovery tools, and support a hopeful, person-centered environment.

Required credentials include Peer Employment Training with Certification as a Peer Support Specialist and a High School Diploma or equivalent; lived experience with mental health or substance use services

Qualifications

• Successful completion of Peer Employment Training thus obtaining Certification as a Peer Support Specialist required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Lived experience requiring mental health and/or substance use services.

Responsibilities

• Guest Care & Advocacy: Provides peer support to engage individuals in a recovery partnership and assists in identifying participant’s hopes and dreams and the solutions they are seeking.
• Compliance & Risk Management: Completes clinical documentation as required and adheres to regulations and policies.
• Cross Functional Collaboration: Coordinates with the individual’s clinical team and other supports to arrange services or resources to help the individual achieve their goals.
• Additional Duties: Performs other related duties as assigned.
