Job summary

Recovery Innovations is seeking a Peer Support Specialist I for our Out-Patient Community in Wilmington. This part-time, non-exempt role supports individuals on their recovery journey, teaches recovery tools, and advocates for their needs within a collaborative team.

The ideal candidate has completed Peer Employment Training, holds DE Peer Certification (if applicable), a High School Diploma, and demonstrates lived experience with mental health or substance use recovery.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to teach recovery information and recovery tools.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must be able to pass state-required de-escalation training.

Responsibilities

• Guest Care & Advocacy: provide peer support and help identify participant goals.
• Coaches recovery and life skills using recovery tools.
• Models hope and self-advocacy to support recovery goals.
• Assists in developing natural supports and community living.
• Cultivates connectedness in the person’s life and purpose.
