Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking an Inpatient Pediatric Medical Coder for a fully remote role in the United States. The coder will extract data from clinical documentation, apply ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes, and ensure compliance with guidelines and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• 5+ years of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS inpatient coding experience.
• 1 year of pediatric in-patient coding experience.
• Must hold one of the credentials RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CIC, or CPC.

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and results to extract data and apply ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes.
• Maintain 95% accuracy in coding with high productivity; target 2 IP charts per hour.
• Work pending and review queues daily; communicate corrections to facilities.
• Query physicians when information is conflicting, ambiguous, or incomplete.
• Re-bill corrections and communicate with facilities daily; adhere to HIPAA and policy.
