Job summary

Children’s Wisconsin is seeking an Inpatient Coding Specialist III to ensure accurate inpatient data and optimal reimbursement. This role requires proficiency in ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS codes and encoder workflows, with ability to work across coding areas as needed in a 100% remote, full-time environment.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years inpatient coding experience in acute care, understands DRG assignment, and holds or pursues AHIMA credentials such as CCS, RHIA, or RHIT.

Qualifications

• Experience coding inpatient (facility) in acute care preferred.
• Knowledge of DRG assignment and reimbursement regulations in acute care.
• Experience coding with encoder software and Windows-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Support accurate, complete coding for inpatient data and reimbursement.
• Code complex cases using ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS guidelines.
• Assist across coding areas as needed.
