Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking an Inpatient Pediatric Medical Coder to review clinical documentation and apply ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for various pediatric inpatient cases. This full-time role is 100% remote and supports Medicare/NonMedicare, surgical, medical, cardiac, and trauma cases.

Minimum 5+ years of inpatient coding, pediatric experience, and professional credentials (RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CIC/CPC) are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• 5+ years of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS inpatient coding experience.
• 1 year of pediatric inpatient coding.
• One of the credentials RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CIC, or CPC.

Responsibilities

• Code inpatient pediatric accounts with accuracy per ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS guidelines.
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and 2 IP charts per hour productivity.
• Query physicians when information is incomplete or conflicting.
• Complete coding timely and communicate corrections to facilities daily.
• Collaborate with IQC staff and IT to resolve system issues.
• Adhere to HIPAA and client policies; update the Client Portal daily.
