Job summary

Volt is hiring a PCB Design Engineer for a remote role. The position requires a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree with several years of PCB design experience, plus strong ECAD tooling knowledge (Siemens Xpedition) and IPC standards familiarity.

The role is a 12-month full-time contract or contract-to-hire, with pay range $50–$54 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package. Experience with back-end ECAD tool management is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or graduate degree with required PCB design experience.
• In lieu of a degree, eight years of related experience.
• Several years of PCB design experience or equivalent.
• ECAD tools experience, especially Siemens Xpedition.
• Knowledge of IPC design standards (IPC-2221/2222/6012/ A-600/ A-610).
• IT support for ECAD tools like Xpedition and EDM.

Responsibilities

• Place and route components meeting electrical and physical specs.
• Ensure manufacturing and assembly requirements are met.
• Develop drawings and documentation for PCB fabrication.
• Rework PCB designs after engineering changes.
• Update drawings per engineering change instructions.
• Create ECAD footprints and schematic symbols.
