Job summary

Volt is seeking a PCB Design Engineer for a remote, 12-month contract. The role focuses on placing and routing components to meet electrical and physical requirements while ensuring manufacturability and proper documentation for fabrication and assembly.

The ideal candidate brings 6+ years in PCB design (or 4+ with a graduate degree) and strong ECAD tool experience, especially Xpedition, plus knowledge of IPC standards. This contract offers a competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of relevant PCB design experience or Graduate Degree with 4+ years experience.
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of related PCB design experience.
Experience in PCB design and related ECAD tools is required.

Responsibilities

Place and route components ensuring electrical and physical specs meet design requirements.
Ensure manufacturing and assembly requirements are met.
Develop drawings and documentation for PCB fabrication and assembly.
Rework PCB designs when engineering changes occur and assist the design team with resolutions.
Update drawings per engineering change requests.
Create ECAD footprints and schematic symbols as required.
