Job summary

Intuit is seeking a Senior Payroll Tax Processor to resolve payroll tax notices and corrections with independence in a high-volume environment. You will prepare amended returns, research notices, and collaborate across Corrections, Amendments, and Pay & File teams.

The role offers flexible, part-time or extended hours (20–40/wk) in a remote setup with overtime eligibility. Strong technical depth and mentoring abilities are valued.

Qualifications

• Hands-on payroll tax experience resolving state and federal notices; capability to prepare amended returns.
• Experience with balance-due notices, deposit discrepancies, and SUI rate changes.
• Familiarity with Form 941-X and W-2c processes and related penalties/interest.

Responsibilities

• Execute full-cycle payroll tax case work; audit payroll outputs and manage filings.
• Research and resolve complex state and federal notices; own cases from intake to closure.
• Prepare agency responses with documentation before deadlines; document support thoroughly.
• Prepare amended payroll tax returns (Federal and State) independently on complex amendments.
• Support correction workflows by identifying tax source and documenting the audit trail.
• Maintain personal WIP queue and prioritize by SLA; ensure timely case closure.
