Job summary

The Standard is offering a payroll internship in a fully remote, USA-based environment. You will assist with payroll data validation, reconciliations, and reporting while gaining exposure to related finance activities.

Ideal candidates are accounting/finance majors with strong analytical skills, experience with Excel and MS Office, and an interest in AI tools. Enrollment as a full-time student is required, with sponsorship not available.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as a full-time student for the duration of the internship.
• Preferred majors in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
• Strong analytical and Excel skills; experience with MS Office and AI tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn payroll operations, processes, controls, terminology, and service standards while gaining an understanding of end-to-end payroll administration.
• Assist with payroll data validation, reconciliations, reporting, and analytical reviews to support accurate and timely payroll processing.
• Support payroll-related research, issue resolution, documentation, audit requests, and cross-functional coordination with key business partners.
• Contribute to payroll process improvement, automation, workflow documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and controls.
• Apply payroll, compensation, tax, accounting, or analytical knowledge to assigned projects and operational responsibilities.
• Collaborate with Payroll, Producer Services, Accounting, Tax, and business leaders while maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and accuracy when handling sensitive information and completing other assigned duties.
