Job summary

Baker Tilly Advisory Group, LP is seeking a payroll specialist to join our mostly remote team serving clients across multiple states. You will support payroll engagements, review compliance, and help optimize processes using leading platforms.

The role requires multistate knowledge, CPP preferred, and strong analytical and communication skills. A Bachelor's degree is preferred and Excel proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

• 3 years of payroll experience in consulting, outsourcing, or in-house roles.
• Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations and tax filings.
• Experience with payroll forms such as 941, 941-X, W-2C.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; CPP certification strongly preferred or in progress.
• Proficient with Excel and MS Office; excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Support payroll engagements across diverse clients, industries and geographies.
• Assess and improve client payroll processes, controls and procedures.
• Perform multistate payroll compliance reviews including federal, state and local regulations.
• Assist with payroll setup, earnings, deductions and tax treatments.
• Communicate concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Contribute to timely, high-quality project deliverables.
