Job summary

Magnificent Differences Consulting, LLC is seeking a Payroll and Benefits Specialist to own end-to-end payroll and benefits administration across multiple states in a remote environment. You will ensure accurate processing, timely filings, and seamless benefits coordination while maintaining strict confidentiality.

You will report to the HR Manager and collaborate with clients and MDC teams to uphold payroll integrity, run audits, and implement improvements to procedures and documentation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of end-to-end payroll and benefits experience.
• CPP or FPC certification preferred.
• Experience with multi-state payroll.
• Experience with Paylocity is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end, multi-state payroll for MDC and client accounts on schedules.
• Validate and reconcile timesheets, earnings, deductions, and payroll reports with approvals.
• Process employee status changes, pay adjustments, bonuses, and garnishments accurately.
• Coordinate payroll tax registrations, filings, notices, and reconciliations with providers and agencies.
• Administer benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations, incl. open enrollment.
• Reconcile benefits and retirement invoices against payroll deductions and employer contributions.
• Support leave-of-absence payroll and benefit changes under HR Manager guidance.
• Respond to routine payroll/benefits questions and escalate complex issues.
• Maintain payroll/benefits data, SOPs, checklists, and improve efficiency.
