Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Accounting or Payroll Administration.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing and accounting.
• Strong knowledge of South African payroll legislation, including PAYE, UIF, and SDL.
• Proficiency in payroll software (VIP Payroll, Sage) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
• Understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Experience with various employee benefit schemes is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Processing the entire payroll cycle accurately and on time.
• Ensuring compliance with BCEA, UIF, PAYE, and other relevant legislation.
• Managing employee data, including new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status.
• Calculating and processing payroll deductions, benefits, and adjustments.
• Performing payroll reconciliations and resolving any discrepancies.
• Generating payroll reports for management and statutory submissions.
• Liaising with SARS and other regulatory bodies regarding payroll taxes and submissions.
• Maintaining payroll system integrity and ensuring data accuracy.
• Handling employee queries related to payroll.
• Staying updated on changes in payroll legislation and best practices.
