Job summary

Sentara Health Plan seeks a Payment Policy Research Analyst & Technical Writer to identify and present new cost-saving policy opportunities using data insights and SME input across SHP. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to drive growth in payment/reimbursement policies while delivering savings through deployment.

The role requires 3 years of health plan experience or medical coding, with a preferred BS/BA in health care.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor-level degree preferred.
• 3 years health plan experience or 3 years medical coding required.
• 3 years health plan claim auditing or appeals preferred.
• BS/BA/advanced degree in health care or medical field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Research and assess internal payment policies and payment solutions to identify cost savings opportunities.
• Determine strategies or solutions to achieve cost savings (policy development, authorization criteria, process, contracts, edits).
• Establish relationships with internal and external stakeholders to define and deliver payment initiatives and policy development.
