Job summary

UnitedHealth Group seeks a Collections Representative to support hospital accounts across the United States. The role focuses on collecting, reconciling and researching accounts, with duties including submitting appeal letters and verifying payment accuracy according to payer contracts.

The position is full-time with 8-hour shifts during 6am–5pm PST, and offers a comprehensive benefits package. Training is provided in the first month, with hours 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM PST.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years hospital/facility collections experience including follow-up, appeals and denials.
• Experience navigating insurance portals to resolve denied hospital claims.
• Experience interpreting UB-04 forms, CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Perform collections, reconciliation, research and correspondence.
• Submit appeal letters on underpaid claims as directed.
• Interpret payer contracts to ensure accurate payments and adjustments.
• Review EOBs for denials and post adjustments to balance accounts.
• Coordinate with hospital departments to ensure proper coding and billing procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, providers and payors.
