Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking an Associate Patient Service Specialist to join our OBGYN patient care team in Worcester, MA. The role focuses on patient access, scheduling, and education within a Lean-driven environment.

Responsibilities include verifying patient data, handling calls, coordinating visits, and communicating changes to providers and patients. On-site and remote work options operate within 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with occasional overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of customer service experience in a clinical setting.
• 1+ years of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience.
• Ability to work full time (40 hours/week), Monday - Friday, with potential overtime.
• Must live within commutable distance to Worcester, MA area.

Responsibilities

• Verifies demographic, insurance and other patient information.
• Addresses patient-care related telephone calls via an incoming work queue.
• Provides patient education regarding managed care plans and referral process.
• Completes and maintains patient schedules and coordinates visits for inpatients/outpatients.
• Communicates with patients regarding all information related to appointments.
• Notifies providers and patients of scheduling changes and add-ons.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
