Job summary

UnitedHealth Group in Worcester, MA seeks a friendly Associate Patient Service Specialist for OBGYN to support patient access, scheduling, and front-line care coordination. This full-time role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to work with diverse care teams.

You will handle patient information, insurance verification, and scheduling within Lean processes, with on-site and occasional remote work as directed by management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of customer service in a clinical setting.
• 1+ year of EMR experience (e.g., EPIC).
• Must be able to work 40 hours/week, Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm, with possible overtime.
• Must live within commutable distance to Worcester, MA.
• Must be 18+.

Responsibilities

• Verifies demographic, insurance and other patient information.
• Addresses patient-care related telephone calls via an incoming work queue.
• Identifies priorities, and responds to emergency needs by contacting physicians.
• Provides patient education regarding managed care plans and referrals.
• Completes and maintains patient schedules.
• Schedules and coordinates patient visits and procedures.
• Communicates with patients about appointment information.
• Notifies providers and patients of scheduling changes.
