Ideal Option has been on the front lines of the opioid epidemic since 2012, with 90+ clinics across 11 states. We seek a Patient Financial Advocate to join our growing team and help us heal communities by delivering compassionate billing support.

The PFA provides billing assistance, coordinates with internal teams, educates patients on financial responsibility, and maintains empathy and professionalism in every interaction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in medical billing, patient collections, or healthcare revenue cycle preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive financial conversations with empathy and professionalism.
• Proficiency in EHR and billing systems.
• Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and multitasking within browsers and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Connect with patients via chats, phone, text and email regarding outstanding balances and set up payment arrangements.
• Educate patients on their financial responsibility, bills, claims processing, and payment plans.
• Partner with medical staff to ensure prompt responses to collections-related inquiries.
• Negotiate payment arrangements with empathy and professionalism.
• Review and manage patient accounts to ensure accurate charges, payments, and balances.
• Generate and review patient statements and billing correspondence.
• Post payments and refunds accurately and timely.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and document all patient interactions.
