Job summary

St. Elizabeth HealthCare is seeking a Patient Access Specialist I (Call Center) to efficiently manage high volumes of inbound and outbound calls.

You will gather patient demographics and insurance data to support the revenue cycle, schedule appointments, handle payments, and document information in the EMR. This non-exempt role emphasizes compliance with HIPAA/OSHA and delivering outstanding patient service.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma/G.E.D.
• Desired: Medical Office Experience
• Less than 3 years of experience in a medical practice, customer service or revenue cycle department

Responsibilities

• Comply with scheduling and release of medical information per OSHA/CLIA/HIPAA.
• Schedule patient appointments using the system to align with physician availability.
• Verify patient demographics and insurance information.
• Collect co-pays, self-pays, and outstanding balances.
• Provide empathetic and professional communication with payors, patients, and staff.
• Ensure accurate data entry in the EMR and timely referrals/ referrals processing.
