Job summary

Jane Pauley Community Health Center, Inc. is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to be the first point of contact for patients and referring providers. You will answer calls, triage requests, schedule appointments, and verify insurance and demographics with a professional, compassionate touch.

The role supports seamless access to care and requires reliable internet for potential remote work. You will document data in the EHR, coordinate with provider offices, and maintain high-quality customer

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of healthcare scheduling experience.
• Experience with computerized scheduling software.
• Excellent computer skills, organized and detail-oriented.
• Call center experience preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; Bridging the Gap within one year.

Responsibilities

• Answer, triage, and process requests for new patient appointments with primary and specialty providers.
• Schedule appointments that align with patient preferences and insurance requirements.
• Collect and verify patient demographics and insurance information.
• Coordinate with provider offices to ensure smooth transfer of patient information.
• Document scheduled appointments, referrals, and demographic data in the EHR.
• Handle a high volume of requests efficiently while maintaining excellent customer experience.
• Promote teamwork and continuous improvement across departments.
• Maintain professionalism in all interactions with patients, peers, providers, and leadership.
