Job summary

Intermountain Health is hiring a Part-time Patient Service Representative for a fully remote role based in Murray, Utah. You will be the first point of contact for patients, handling intake, scheduling, and information verification to ensure a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities include registering patients, collecting insurance information, and guiding them through forms while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in the EMR.

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience.
• Basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to protect privacy and PHI of patients, members, and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Provides courteous and professional connections with patients over the phone, in person or via secure messaging.
• Documents all phone calls accurately and completely in the EMR.
• Schedules patient appointments for visits, procedures, diagnostic tests, referrals, and/or consultations.
• Registers patients over the phone or in person by confirming and updating demographic data.
• Obtains copies of insurance cards, forms of ID, and signatures on required forms; may verify COB and pre-certification.
• Assists patients in completing necessary forms to meet regulatory and billing needs; educates patient on financial assistance and processes payments.
• Stays current on role responsibilities and updates to ensure high performance.
