Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Payroll Administrator for a part-time, primarily remote role based in Stamford, CT. You will handle end-to-end payroll for a mixed workforce including part-time, hourly, and seasonal staff, with oversight from the Director of Finance.

The role requires at least three years of hands-on payroll experience, proficiency with ADP Workforce Now, and strong Excel skills. Remote work with occasional on-site tasks and a focus on confidentiality is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of hands-on payroll processing experience.
• Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now and payroll integration with QuickBooks Online.
• Knowledge of federal and Connecticut payroll tax, wage and hour, and leave regulations.
• Strong Excel skills for payroll reporting and reconciliation.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Process biweekly payroll in ADP, review timekeeping and funding, and prepare post-payroll reports.
• Reconcile employee timecards and address discrepancies before payroll deadlines.
• Administer pay changes, new hires, terminations, final pay, retroactive adjustments, and off-cycle payments.
• Maintain employee records in ADP, including tax withholdings and garnishments.
• Track leave accruals and usage per policy and state requirements.
• Coordinate quarterly and annual filings, W‑2 production, and ACA reporting.
• Reconcile payroll activity to the general ledger and support grant-funded labor cost allocation.
