Job summary

The Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library is seeking a PT Library Customer Adviser for the Virtual Information Center in Cincinnati, OH. You will provide direct customer service, including reference, technology support, and assistance via email, phone, chat, and in person.

The role supports remote customers, handles circulation tasks, and helps with resumes and job searches. 20 hours per week, evenings and weekends may be required; equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to organize materials alphabetically and numerically.
• Ability to work independently and with coworkers.
• Ability to use common library technology and tools.
• Lifts up to 50 pounds and can push carts up to 150 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Answers general customer questions in person, by phone, email, text, chat, etc.
• Provides readers’ advisory and reference service, including remote customers.
• Shelves returned materials and searches for requested items.
• Assists with desk setup, ILS reports, supply orders, and interagency requests.
• Maintains the collection and helps with weeding and shelving accuracy.
• Assists with meeting rooms and customer technology needs.
• References policy information to customers and directs issues to leadership as needed.
