Job summary

Cincinnati and Hamilton County Public Library – St Bernard location is seeking a PT Library Customer Adviser to provide front-line service, circulation assistance, reference support, and reader advisory. You will help customers with technology, process materials, and support library programs.

Hours are 20 per week, including evenings and weekends, with a pay rate of $17.48 per hour. This role emphasizes excellent customer service and adherence to library policies in a diverse community.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Ability to arrange materials alphabetically and numerically.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to use library technology.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds and moving up to 150 pounds.
• Working irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Circulates materials and processes holds and fees.
• Assists customers with technologies.
• Shelves returned materials.
• Performs readers’ advisory and reference services.
• Participates in location's shared responsibilities.
• Assists with programs, displays, and meeting room approvals.
• Prepares and deposits money from fees.
• Serves as person-in-charge in absence of leadership.
• Interprets library policies to the public.
• Supports library mission and diversity/inclusion.
• Complies with workplace policies.
