Job summary

The Cincinnati and Hamilton County Public Library is seeking a PT Library Customer Adviser for Hyde Park to deliver direct customer service, assist with circulation, reference services, and technology assistance.

You will handle transactions, guide patrons, support programs, and help maintain materials while working evenings and weekends. This 24-hour weekly role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and inclusive service in a busy library environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 150 pounds as needed.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Circulates materials, checks items in/out, processes holds, and collects fees.
• Assists customers with technology and reference questions.
• Reshelves materials and searches for requested items.
• Provides readers’ advisory and basic reference services.
• Supports desk operations and department responsibilities as assigned.
• Maintains and interprets library policies for patrons.
