Job summary

OpenTrain AI offers a remote, part-time contracting role for experienced inpatient medical coders. Review records, judge AI-generated notes, and provide expert coding responses on a flexible schedule while earning an hourly rate.

You will work with frontier AI tools to shape training data and improve AI accuracy, applying established coding standards and DRG concepts. No AI experience needed beyond coding expertise.

Qualifications

• Active CIC, CCS, RHIA, RHIT, or another AHIMA/AAPC credential required.
• Current experience with inpatient ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient records and determine principal and secondary diagnoses using ICD-10-CM/PCS guidelines.
• Assess impact of MCCs, CCs, procedures and POA indicators on DRG assignment.
• Evaluate AI-generated notes and code suggestions against documentation and standards.
• Resolve discrepancies and flag documentation gaps that may warrant a provider query.
