Job summary

YO AI Labs is seeking certified Medical Coders (CCS/CIC) for a remote contractor role to support an AI training project focused on inpatient coding accuracy and data quality.

Responsibilities include reviewing records, sequencing diagnoses, validating MS-DRG classifications, and applying official guidelines. Requires CCS or CIC, ICD-10-CM/PCS expertise, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Active CCS or CIC credential.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS and MS-DRG.
• Hands-on inpatient coding experience.
• Ability to review complex medical records and apply guidelines.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.
• Access to current coding references and MS-DRG grouper tools.

Responsibilities

• Review and annotate inpatient records using ICD-10-CM/PCS.
• Identify principal and secondary diagnoses and assign POA indicators.
• Validate MS-DRG classifications including CCs and MCCs.
• Apply inpatient coding guidelines and AHA Coding Clinic guidance.
• Identify hospital-acquired conditions and patient safety indicators.
• Provide feedback to improve coding accuracy and AI performance.
