Job summary

Commence is seeking a Coding Specialist (Part-Time) to audit encounters and deliver clear, well-documented coding results. The role requires senior outpatient hospital coding experience and the ability to summarize medical facts with references from authoritative sources.

Candidates should demonstrate strong communication with clinicians and reviewers, adherence to HIPAA, and the capacity to work effectively in a remote/office setting. Remote work is available in a national scope.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of complex coding with ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT/HCPCS, DRG/APRDRG or equivalent.
• Research, determine, and apply coding solutions for audits and reviews.
• Communicate findings clearly to reviewers and clients to ensure understanding.
• Follow HIPAA and privacy regulations and maintain information security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performing audit functions for identified encounters in a timely and accurate manner.
• Generating well-written deliverables and audit work papers.
• Maintain outstanding verbal communication with hospital and client personnel.
• Coordinate communications among reviewers and clinicians to support coding decisions.
