Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a highly skilled Computational Designer to join our data-driven design team. The role centers on developing advanced computational workflows for architecture, urban design, planning, and engineering across local and international projects.

The candidate will translate design intent into computational solutions, drive digital transformation, and collaborate across disciplines. Flexible location in the United States or remote work options are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, urban design, computational design or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Strong Rhino and Grasshopper skills with complex parametric models.
• Proficiency in Python to extend Grasshopper capabilities.
• 3+ years in urban design, planning, landscape architecture, or architecture firms.
• Portfolio showcasing parametric modeling capabilities.
• Ability to multi-task with attention to detail and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Eagerness to learn and work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Build computational models for various projects.
• Build, maintain and improve computational workflows and products across the firm.
• Work with diverse platforms including 3D modeling software, GIS, BIM, and development environments.
• Handle data from environmental, economic, planning, and demographic sources.
• Collaborate with clients to understand needs and develop strategies.
• Stay updated on new technologies, best practices, and software applications.
• Build technical expertise and provide ongoing education for the firm.
• Explain technical ideas verbally and graphically; create presentations and reports.
• Foster quality relationships within teams and across the organization.
