Job summary

The Opportunity Alliance is hiring Full-Time Crisis Support Specialists for the Maine Crisis Line (MCL) in Maine. Remote work is optional within Maine, with in-person orientation in South Portland. You will learn to answer calls and texts, assess risk, and support crisis stabilization with guidance from licensed professionals.

MHRT-CSP certification is provided onsite, training included. Ideal candidates have an Associate’s degree, strong communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced,

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required.
• One year of relevant experience preferred but not required (behavioral health/human services or related areas).
• Ability to earn MHRT-CSP certification within 30 days; training onsite provided.

Responsibilities

• Build rapport with help seekers with empathy in a safe, non-judgmental space.
• Complete risk assessments for caller safety during crises.
• Develop crisis stabilization plans with clinical support for least invasive interventions.
• Collaborate with community partners to ensure continuity of care.
