Job summary

Sigma Technologies is seeking an experienced Make Ready Designer to support overhead pole make-ready and joint-use design for electric distribution. Remote work in the U.S. is offered, with a 2-week in-person orientation at Perrysburg, OH headquarters.

You will interpret field data, apply NESC requirements, and develop construction-ready designs ensuring accuracy and constructability. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in make-ready or electric distribution design, proficiency with CAD tools, and

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in make-ready engineering, joint-use, or electric power distribution design (3+ years strongly preferred).
• Proficiency with CAD or MicroStation; experience with DDS, Katapult, O-Calc, or similar platforms is strongly preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass background checks.
• Authorization to work in the United States; willingness to travel occasionally; standard M-F schedule aligned to Eastern Time.

Responsibilities

• Complete make-ready and overhead utility pole design work orders meeting quality, schedule, and budget expectations.
• Review field data, pole information, attachment details, and existing conditions.
• Evaluate joint-use attachments, NESC clearances, pole loading, and modifications.
• Develop construction-ready make-ready designs including pole replacements and attachments.
• Apply NESC and client design criteria; support end-to-end design and related overhead distribution work.
• Conduct permitting and easement research; resolve design conflicts with project teams.
• Support CAD and design platforms such as DDS, Katapult, O-Calc, GIS, AutoCAD, MicroStation.
