Job summary

Sigma Technologies, Ltd. is seeking an experienced Make Ready Designer to support overhead pole design and joint-use projects for electric distribution. You will turn field data into construction-ready designs, applying NESC requirements and testing for conflicts and modifications.

The role is remote within the United States, with a 2-week in-person orientation at our Perrysburg, Ohio headquarters. Strong CAD/MicroStation and utility-design experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in make-ready engineering or joint-use design; 3+ years preferred.
• Experience with utility pole design, NESC application, and pole loading concepts.
• Proficiency with CAD or MicroStation; familiarity with DDS/Katapult/O-Calc is strongly preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and ability to travel occasionally.
• Authorized to work in the United States; remote work with in-person orientation in Perrysburg, OH.

Responsibilities

• Complete make-ready and overhead pole design work orders to meet quality and schedule targets.
• Review field data, pole information, attachments, and existing conditions.
• Evaluate joint-use attachments, clearance requirements, and modifications.
• Develop construction-ready make-ready designs including pole replacements and transfers.
• Apply NESC standards and client design criteria; support end-to-end design.
• Perform permitting research and resolve design conflicts with project teams.
• Collaborate on design reviews and ensure deliverables are accurate.
