Datavant is seeking an experienced outpatient coder to join our remote team. You will review medical records, assign diagnoses and procedure codes, and ensure accurate coding sequences for hospital reporting.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hospital coding experience
• Proficiency with coding specialties (Same Day Surgery, Observation, Injections/Infusions)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with encoding/abstracting software
• Annual HIPAA certification/testing requirements

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign diagnoses/procedures codes
• Sequence codes based on documentation
• Enter coded data for hospital reporting
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and APC assignment accuracy
• Track continuing education credits for credentials
• Attend required Datavant education sessions
• Communicate coding issues to appropriate personnel
• Adhere to AHIMA code of ethics and confidentiality statements
