Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced outpatient coders to join a fully remote role with a flexible schedule. The ideal candidate has AHIMA or AAPC credentials and 2+ years of hospital coding experience, with strong knowledge of injection/infusion coding and related specialties.

Responsibilities include reviewing records, assigning codes, abstracting data for reporting, and maintaining high accuracy and productivity while pursuing ongoing education.

Qualifications

• AHIMA RHIA/RHIT/CCS or AAPC CPC/CPC-H/COC/CIC/CRC credentials.
• 2+ years of hospital coding or coding consulting experience.
• Proficiency in Same Day Surgery, Observation, Injections/Infusions; E/M sizing.

Responsibilities

• Review records and assign diagnoses/procedures codes accurately.
• Sequence codes per documentation and determine discharge disposition.
• Abstract data for hospital statistics and reporting.
• Identify documentation improvements and coding issues for follow up.
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and APC assignment accuracy; meet productivity standards.
• Track continuing education credits and participate in sponsored meetings.
