Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and fluent English (spoken and written).
• Current AHIMA/AAPC credential maintained during performance.
• At least two years of continuous professional coding experience in a VA-level environment or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Code outpatient professional encounters with ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, modifiers, and E/M levels.
• Validate documentation, medical necessity, and coding rules.
• Submit queries and resolve incomplete documentation.
• Correct claim edits and data-quality issues.
• Use VA systems as required and protect patient information.
