Job summary

DaMar Staffing seeks a Ohio Licensed Medical Records Coder to support the VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System in a fully remote capacity. The coder will assign codes for inpatient, outpatient, surgery, and testing encounters while ensuring documentation accuracy and compliance with standards.

Applicants must hold AHIMA or AAPC credentials (RHIT/RHIA/CCS/CPC) and have at least two years of coding experience in a VA-like setting, with proficiency in ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS, plus familiarity

Qualifications

• Active credential from AHIMA or AAPC (e.g., RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC)
• Minimum of two years of continuous coding experience in a Level 1A VA Medical Center or equivalent facility
• Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
• Experience with Oracle Health and Solventum CRS Encoder
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and documentation review techniques

Responsibilities

• Perform coding of inpatient, outpatient, surgery, and diagnostic testing encounters while assigning appropriate codes
• Review medical records for completeness and accuracy, submitting provider queries when necessary
• Participate in coding audits and maintain coding accuracy standards, preparing quality assurance reports
