Job summary

Xtensys is seeking an Outpatient Coding Specialist to accurately code complex outpatient claims across ED, outpatient surgery, and observation services, including oncology, interventional radiology, pain management, and cardiology.

You will select and sequence ICD-10-CM and CPT codes per coding guidelines, manage claim edits, and stay updated through ongoing education. Remote work option with ET-aligned hours.

Qualifications

• Must have strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding classifications and official guidelines.
• Ability to interpret medical documentation and resolve coding questions with staff.
• Experience with hospital coding workflows and revenue cycle processes.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis and CPT procedure codes for outpatient services (ED, outpatient surgery, observation, oncology, interventional radiology, pain management, cardiology).
• Ensure correct code sequencing per official guidelines and payer requirements.
• Query medical staff to clarify incomplete documentation; participate in coding audits and apply feedback.
