Qualifications

Accredited Coding program or equivalent education/experience required.
Preferred: formal coding certificate/education program.
Minimum 1 year of experience abstracting and coding with ICD-10-CM and CPT-4.
Must reside in Washington, Oregon, or Alaska.

Responsibilities

Review records and code diagnoses/procedures using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 for reimbursement and compliance.
Review records to ensure specificity of diagnoses and procedures for optimal reimbursement.
Abstract information from medical records following established methods.
Identify problem documents and work with departments to correct errors.
Review and correct claim and code edits as required.
