Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a PB Coder 2 to join our team in a role that supports a home-based setting while maintaining close collaboration with the coding team.

The Coder 2 analyzes clinical documentation, assigns codes, abstracts data, and uses ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, and HCPCS to ensure accurate reimbursement. Responsibilities include resolving edits, coding quality, and provider education as needed.

Qualifications

• Certificate program in Coding or A.A./A.S. in HIM with 1–3 years healthcare experience.
• 1 year of coding experience.
• Basic knowledge of Windows-based software; Epic and Teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
• Assigns ICD-10, CPT-4, and HCPCS codes per official guidelines.
• Extracts required information from EMR and enters data into systems.
• Resolve questions about diagnosis or codes through research and communication.
• Meet productivity and quality standards and complete projects as assigned.
• Support payer and regulatory reporting requirements.
