UCHealth (Colorado) seeks a coder for the Outpatient ED - Emergency Department in Denver, CO. This full-time coding position assigns diagnoses/procedures using standard classifications and interacts with department leadership to ensure accuracy and compliance.

The role requires RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P or similar credentials and a strong attention to detail. Eligible out-of-state candidates may apply for remote consideration.

Qualifications

• High School diploma GED or higher.
• Coding certifications listed in the position level information.
• AHIMA or AAPC credentials as determined at position level.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records to determine diagnostic and procedural code assignments.
• Assign charges for clinics and departments as appropriate.
• Communicate coding, compliance and documentation issues with leadership.
• Seek clarification from providers to ensure accurate coding.
• Increase coding knowledge through continuing education and literature review.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and decisive action in a fast-paced environment.
