Qualifications

• Certified coding credentials required or in process.
• Experience with outpatient coding and medical records review preferred.
• Ability to interpret documentation and assign accurate codes.

Responsibilities

• Reviews medical records to determine diagnostic and procedural code assignments.
• Assigns charges for applicable clinics/departments as appropriate.
• Communicates with management on coding, compliance and documentation issues.
• Seeks clarification from providers to ensure accurate coding; pursue continuing education.
• Maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
