Job summary

e4health is seeking an experienced Outpatient Coder to accurately abstract data into client EMR systems in accordance with ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines. The role is remote, full-time, and non-exempt, serving healthcare organizations nationwide.

The ideal candidate holds an AHIMA or AAPC credential with a minimum of 3 years of coding experience, including trauma level 1 and academic teaching facility exposure. High accuracy and strong communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC credential required.
• Minimum 3 years coding experience.
• Trauma Level 1 and Academic Teaching facility experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assigns ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS codes and modifiers to facility-based accounts per workflow.
• Abstracts and enters coded data for hospital statistics and reporting.
• Queries physicians to clarify conflicting or incomplete information.
• Communicates coding issues to appropriate personnel for follow-up and resolution.
• Maintains productivity and coding quality per targets.
• Maintains required coding credentials.
